FH Presentation Award 2023 - (30th)

- The Candidate Process was open until Wednesday, 6 December

- The Jury Breakfast Friday was held on 8 December at 08.00

- Winner Announcement Thursday 21 December at 12.00

This year, the FH Award celebrates 30 years, and the traditional release announces the Winners with a Merry Christmas without any formal ceremony. NB: Since 2022, the FH Award is independent from Financial Hearings. However, it is supported by both Financial Hearings and Inderes. Please Note: FH is NOT to be written out "Financial Hearings!"

The world started 2023 with a lot of doubts. The negative spiral with higher inflation and interest rates spiked threats of recession for many economies. By the end of this year, it seems that both threats have stopped. However, the Ukraine and Hamas-Israeli conflicts still occupy our minds together with the energy and climate questions.

With that environment, this year has been very focused on the engineering sector, and most of the votes are around Volvo. Also, Epiroc and the Small-cap Company Engcon gained strong marks on the market. In Microcap, we found Mendus, who has shown and presented progress in cancer treatment in the healthcare sector.

The International Presenter of the Year - the Wallenberg Prize - goes to Martin Lundstedt at Volvo AB for how he and the company have succeeded in delivering on a strategy story that was mainly implemented in a CMD some years ago. This brings value and has created a global impact based on teamwork from key people who are now leaving.

Therefore, we also give the CFO of the year to Jan Ytterberg and the Special Prize to President Carl-Henric Svanberg, both ending their Volvo Career with a peak high delivery and performance. The Special Prize is also awarded to Christer Johansson,  after almost 20 years as Head of IR at AB Volvo, who has moved-on to a new position in the company.

The Presenter of the Year - the Original Financial Hearings Prize - goes to Helena Hedblom at Epiroc. Helena was just voted Leader of the Year by Affärsvärlden, and the Jury could just agree to the work she has done and the way she has presented things, supported by Head of IR Karin Larsson.

The Moderator Prize goes to Analysts Hampus Engellau at SHB, Olof Cederholm at ABG Sundal Collier Journalists Fia Forsman at Nyhetsbyrån Direkt Infront and Rafaela Lindeberg at Bloomberg. This year, it was hard for the Jury to split the Winners, but if you read between the lines, it was very much about engineering and Volvo in the end, as all of them have been involved in moderating messages locally as well as internationally – which is more and more important for international investors from a Swedish company valuation perspective.

The Small Cap Prize goes to Krister Blomgren at engcon. Krister presented and moved this engineering company from Small Cap to Midcap during a year that has been really hard for companies of this size.

The Micro Cap Prize goes to Erik Manting at Mendus. Since late 2022, Erik has communicated with gusto and commitment the potential and continuous clinical progress for Mendus' core candidate drug, vididencel, as maintenance therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Rookie of the Year goes to Göran Westerberg Rusta. Göran has just started his journey with Rusta on the Market, and so far presented the company in a positive way. In a difficult IPO year he shows it is still possible to enter the market.

On behalf of the FH Jury, and Merry Christmas

Isabelle Boyer de la Giroday and Per-Erik Holmström

Please Note: FH is NOT to be written out "Financial Hearings!"

In 2022, the FH Award became independent from Financial Hearings. However, it is supported by both Financial Hearings and Inderes. The Jury is supported and represented with market votes from the whole financial sector in buy-side and sell-side as well as from media and consultants

About FH Award - Inderes took over Financial Hearings in November 2022, but FH Award will remain an Independent part under FH Award and owned by HK Investment. Inderes and Financial Hearings will support FH Award as the main Sponsors.

Financial Hearings, founded by Per-Erik Holmström at Finanstidningen, has for 30 years been an organizer of financial presentations for the capital market and has honoured every year a number of prizes to the best Swedish presenters, in order to stimulate the presentation art. Presentation Art is central of business creation in building companies, which often precedes the presentation of capital and environs, as the corporate markets grows in size, both in percentage and geo- graphy. Therefore we decided to put up some honourable prices, with a jury comprised of leading Media – Brokers and Institutions as well as IR and PR consultants.

The selection is all Swedish public presentations to the financial market. There are three main criteria: Continuity, Reach and Performance *. The first two are measurable and objective. The last is more subjective and judged by Financial Hearings and the Jury Group. We look at all types of presenters around the capital market where the entire jury group is free to submit proposals.

Financial Hearings Assessment of Performance. Presentation task weighed against the results, i.e. the results after the presentation. In the Financial Hearings presentation model, there are four basic types’ presentation times where it’s about how to manage expectations and where the “aftertaste” is largely the determining factor. First High expectations of the audience where the message contains a high degree of fulfilment 2nd High expectations of the audience where the message contains a low degree of fulfilment 3rd Low expectations of the audience where the message contains a high degree of fulfilment. 4th Low expectations of the audience where the message contains a low degree of fulfilment

This presentation model established in the Investor Relations in Practice, Ekerlids Förlag 2002

FH Presentation Award 2022

FH Award 2022

This year we will follow the last years tradition and release the FH Award Winners to Christmas, without any formal ceremony. Since November 2022 the FH Award is independent from Financial Hearings, however it is supported by both Financial Hearings and Inderes.

After some years with Corona, the world started 2022 with new optimism. That changed as a negative spiral with higher inflation and interest rates spiked threats of recession for many economies. One driver was the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a war that has been scary to follow and lately focused on the energy question.

From a global perspective, we note that the threats against freedom of expression and journalism are unusually high, the Assange affair being one example. In our region, Sweden will downgrade its neutrality. That, with pressure from Turkey, will challenge our most profound defense for free souls in a new way. It's sad that violence and fear still rule most minds...

We are happy to give the 2022 FH Award to Presenters that have done something constructive for the benefit of humanity as a collective.

The International Presenter of the Year - the Wallenberg Prize - goes to Gunilla Osswald at Bio Arctic for how she and the company have succeeded in taking Lars Lannfelt's groundbreaking research further and presenting the progress in the Lecanemab phase 3 studies against Alzheimer's Disease. This brings value and hopes to the whole human race and has created a global impact.

The Presenters of the Year goes to Mats Rahmström, Atlas Copco and Gerteric Lindquist, NIBE. Mats Rahmström is an outstanding example of a completed generation change in Atlas Copco, which as usual, is one of the companies that goes against the stream. Gerteric Lindquist, with years of presence in his own style, currently follows the stream in the energy market with something obvious for him in many years.

The Moderator Prize goes to Erik Golrang, SEB and Gabriel Mellqvist, DI TV. With many years in the industrial sector, Erik has become a truthful voice covering especially the new developments in the car industry.Gabriel Mellqvist is awarded for his "fair and square" moderating of many sectors and companies on DI TV.

The CFO of the Year goes to Carl Cederskiöld, Handelsbanken - for being a stable fundamental brick in the international presentations and the bank's presence.

The Small Cap Prize goes to Ulf Hedlund, Svolder. Ulf has become a living "Icon" in the sector with years of presence – formal and informal – communicated with his intellectual openness. Over the years as an investor, he has always been there and become synonymous with the support a Small Cap company needs.

The Micro Cap goes to Emil Billbäck, Bonesupport and Helen Ljungdahl Round, Acarix. Emil Billbäck has made a journey with Bonesupport and has delivered what he outlined when he started as CEO five years ago.Helen Ljungdahl Round at Acarix who despite current tough market conditions in the sector keeps up with respect and fighting spirit

Rookie of the Year goes to Magnus Larsson, Pricer. Pricer has been a new face and spirit that has received much attention as a friend of many companies that presently need to handle Inflation Issues.

Special Prize goes to Sven Olof Johansson, Fastpartner. Sven Olof is another Icon and legend in the market that still "swings" and "hits" targets with much matured respect. This year he has been heavily involved in the debate on the Interest Rate.
