IRGL Vision
IR Global League is the leading digital information platform for financial events.
Our vision is to improve information, transparency, and corporate governance. We favor mutual information exchange between participants by providing an “Air Traffic System” to schedule financial events.
We have called our system Investor Relations Global League because we believe in showcasing the best of the best companies worldwide. Like other leagues, markets are built on arenas (venues) and clubs or brands (companies) and with star personalities (CEOs, CFOs, IROs, and moderators).
IR Global League has been developed to be neutral to all parties.
Rules
The simple rule in IR Global League is that all parties with something to present have the right to be members. All parties contributing to members’ presentations have the right to be partners. Many of the parties are, therefore, both members and partners. The base fee is the same for both parties. Currently, the fee is 600 Euros per year.
The History of IRGL
The IIRF, International Investor Relations Federation, was originally the brainchild of Neil Ryder and Lou Thompson (respectively the heads of the UK and US investor relations societies). Together with France and Denmark they wanted to increase the transparency between all capital markets in the world. It focused mainly on an annual International Conference.
Their Chairman, Lynge Blak, grew the member base from 4 to 35 national investor relations societies. IIRF ran from 1990 to 2007, when the last IIRF Conference took place in Tokyo, Japan. Today the IIRF network lives a more informal life under the Global Investor Relations Network.
IRGL, or Investor Relations Global League, was initially developed by the IIRF. It started as a Nordic pilot project with an “Air Traffic System” to schedule financial events and presentations. It was first launched by Financial Hearings and the Nordic IR Societies in 2002. It was then formally launched together with IIRF as IR Global League in 2003 to create a “mutual exchange of event information.”
Note: IRGL does not produce any events of its own but has its rating model and can give advice on presentations together with its many partners. IRGL has been operating since 2003 from London and has provided an event scheduling service for over ten years. In 2013, the main operation moved to Stockholm and the Nordic regions. It has also served the market with yearly and quarterly “conflict reports.”
